N is a 5th grader. He's gotten a lot more interested in what he wears. His uniform consists of basketball shorts, some kind of shirt, long socks, and a hoodie of some kind. Basically, it's similar to what boys wore when I was in high school. Hell, most of the guys I know will still wear that on the regular if given the choice. He's never really cared about what he wore until now.
He got it into his head that he needed a new hoodie, and (just like his mother) he had this idea of what he wanted...that and only that. Nothing else would do, except that it's pretty much springtime now, and hoodies are on clearance, aka, completely picked over. Well, his dad took him to get a hoodie last week and rushed him through the process and he ended up with one he didn't want just to buy one. I told him all week that we could go look for a different one, but that he needed to have patience and pick one he really wanted...if he could find it.
I wish I'd never opened my mouth. He is SO much like me, it's insane. He said he liked a green one at Sports Authority, so we went, only to discover that he didn't really like it as much as he remembered. So, we left. And he pouted. And I told him I would let him wear my pink hoodie and he gave me a death look like I've never seen. At our next stop, I talked him into a Mavs hoodie, explaining that he should just get one since he "mysteriously" broke the zipper on his full-zip hoodie today at school, and then, in the fall, we could look for more options when they're out for back-to-school.
He agreed, surprisingly, so we went to Target to pick up a few things and then, since I'd dragged them out to run errands, I agreed to dinner anywhere they wanted as long as we could get it to go because I had a paper to write. World War 87 commenced...and ended with B getting Chipotle, "Yeah, I want two please." two of what, exactly, and N chose a potato from Jason's Deli, which was pretty awesome because that's totally what I wanted. I MIGHT have put a bug in his ear about that one, but whatever works, y'all! I needed a potato.
And then, I came home and did 150 squats.
Do I know how to party or what?
Aubs
Also, I apologize for the overuse of the word, "hoodie" in tonight's post. It really couldn't be avoided.
