The best thing about your children staying up until midnight or later on NYE? When they sleep until after 11:30 the next morning.
It happened, and I'm kind of hoping that today becomes my own personal "Groundhog Day" and it repeats over and over and over again. I not only got to sleep until my alarm went off, but I got to sleep PAST it! What a way to start the year...
It's made for a really short day, though, and I will say B and I have stayed in or pjs all day long. I have absolutely no desire to change until tomorrow. Maybe. N did put on clothes, thinking he was going to go shoot hoops at his dad's house. Instead, he settled for NBA on his Playstation.
I know. I'm hitting "Mom of the Year" pretty hard already. It's cool. I'll be out of the running soon enough.
I'm really excited that my order of K cups will be delivered tomorrow. I realize that's not a whole lot to be excited about, but it's a surprise variety pack. I can't wait to see what's in it!
Yes, this is a new low...but I'm starting my year with lowered expectations so I will (hopefully) exceed said expectations and feel like I've made progress.
2013: The year my mind tricks MIGHT work on myself.
Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to report. We watched "Gnomeo & Juliet" this morning. B was excited to watch it, but N claimed to be less than thrilled. Funny how he didn't want to watch it, and sat completely engrossed for the duration of the movie. But, remember...he can't stand that movie.
We played some sudden death Toy Story Connect 4, and I had N trapped 4 different ways. I was pretty proud of myself for outsmarting a 10 year-old. It was even more entertaining watching the boys play while I worked on the stinkin' Christmas puzzle that's been covering my coffee table for weeks.
I finally finished it by the way, you know, except for the ONE piece of the new puzzle that walked away all on its own. Don't you just love it when that happens? I have one more to do before the holiday season is over, but I'm not sure if I want to go down that road.
Oh! I decided to make certain parts of my body love (read: hate) me, so I'm doing this challenge to (ideally) get me ready for the LLS Firefighter Stair Climb towards the end of the month. Sorry, I got a little sidetracked when I typed "firefighter" as I thought of all of the unique and creative possibilities that would NEVER happen in real life...unless you're me. But, I digress, and I might've started drooling. Or maybe I just can't drink water without being a total spaz. I've only been doing it for a few days, but my thighs aren't happy with me at the moment. On the upside, they're going to be epic by the time I'm finished.
I hope.
Happy New Year, everyone!
Aubs
